DISABILITY AND THE INTERNET: NEW CITIZEN RIGHTS TO TECHNOLOGY?

Resumen

Taking a human rights, media and cultural studies based approach, this paper reviews and analyses the topic of disability, the Internet and policy. In particular, it focuses on the new ways that citizen and human rights to technology that have been articulated via international law and policy – especially the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the World Summit on the Information Society.
