Data of the Integrated Biological & Behavioral Surveillance, 2011, showed that 91.85% of 442 direct FSWs of the Jayapura Municipality and Jayawijaya District (Papua, Indonesia) have sex with partners who did not use condoms. Of these 406 FSWs 14.78% were HIV positive and 56.89% were STD positive. Condom utilization campaigns ought to include: (a) continuous reminders about condom use by customers or FSWs and about where to go for HIV/STD testing and treatment; and, (b) supply of good quality condoms by local managers and local vendors.Published
